About Blu Dot
Blu Dot is a company founded by designers, whose goal from day one was to democratize good design. Today, the team, led by co-founders John Christakos and Maurice Blanks, designs, produces, markets and sells a comprehensive assortment of modern furniture and accessories from its headquarters in Minneapolis. In 2018, the company was awarded the prestigious National Design Award from Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and released “Less is More (Difficult): 20 Years of Design at Blu Dot” with Rizzoli, which chronicles the evolution of the brand. Their designs have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum and the Centre Pompidou. Blu Dot is available at bludot.com as well as retail locations across the U.S., Mexico, and Australia, with a new store opening in Miami in 2021.
